This is part one of two posts. I would do it all in one but it would take up the whole bloody page if i did! Don’t worry, you’ll only have to wait until Friday!

Quirky British designer Emma Bell has shown her collections at London fashion week with Vauxhall Fashion Scout a fair few times now. She gained experience with Rebecca taylor and also textile designer Donna lynch. Emma previously designed for equally as quirky shoe brand Irregular Choice under the name of “Emma Bell for Irregular Choice”. Last year she was appointed as creative director for an exclusive event with Vauxhall Motors held at the Shunt Vaults in London. This event featured a car encrusted with real sweets! Now that’s a party I would’ve loved to have been at. So far her funky designs have been featured in several magazines such as Dazed and Confused, Notion, Disorder, Elle Girl, WWD, The Daily Mail and the list goes on. At the moment she is involved with a designers against aids project.

OK, I confess I actually had this post as a draft for a long long long time but I completely forgot about it until I looked at her Autumn Winter stuff and sparked my memory. I spotted her playful knitted food creations last season. There’s just something about mad unconventional design that I love and the knitted food outfits are just amazing. Just look at the fried egg outfit below! If you want a bit of attention you know where to go cos you certainly won’t be missed in these knitted numbers. These pieces were form her spring summer 2009 collection which was shown last year in September.

This collection was inspired by a £2 Oxfam purchase of a book on Russian folklore although she has said that she also takes inspiration from life and personal experience which reflects in her most recent autumn winter collection (info on that is in the second post) .
As I was feeling very inspired by this collection I decided to look up knitted food and there is surprisingly quite a lot. You can even buy knitted food here: www.trulyscrumptiousknittedfood.co.uk/ Just look below for the array of knitted food!

He’s a designer from Brazil, but he gradueted at London College of Fashion. He made pieces for Sonia Rykiel, Basso & Broke and others important brazilian labels as Ellus and Amapo.
I love his work and I bet that you’re gonna love it too…
